ROAR Lab
Welcome to the ROAR
(Research On Adversity and Risk) Lab
The ROAR Lab uses brain imaging (e.g., MRI) and other methods (e.g., surveys, cognitive testing) to help determine the impact of adversity and trauma on brain development in children and adolescents. We are interested in how adversity-related changes in brain structure and function are associated with high-risk behaviors, like substance use, and how neurodevelopmental pathways from adversity to risk can be redirected in order to promote more adaptive outcomes for young people.
